About our ministers

Dr. Ed Jordan

Our Senior Pastor, Dr. Ed Jordan spent 11 years as a pastor in Gardnerville, Nevada, followed by 11 years as an international missionary in Hungary,before coming to pastor Gate City Baptist Church.  Ed, along with his wife Eniko, and their two children, came to Pocatello in February of 2004.  He has a son, Evan, and a daughter, Ashley.

Ed has written extensively, including a year's worth of Discipleship materials for use by the 5000-plus churches of the Baptist General Convention of Texas.  He also wrote two Bible interpretation books, one for use in Hungary, and the other for use as a college-level curriculum book for Theological Education across Europe.  Since 2006, Ed has written a weekly Faith Column for the Idaho State Journal. One of those columns caused Ed to be given a writing award in a notable national journalist competition.  

Ed continues his history of devoted ministry by serving as the Senior Pastor of Gate City Baptist Church in Pocatello.

Dr. Lu Gilman

Dr. Lu Gilman is Pastor Emeritus at Gate City Baptist Church.  He retired in January 2004 after 25 years of being Senior Pastor at Gate City Baptist Church.  Although he has retired he continues in ministry at Gate City Baptist Church.  He preaches, teaches membership classes, and is the Ministry Team Leader for the Seniors ministry.
