We are a body of believers committed to worshipping and serving Jesus Christ. As a Baptist Church, we join with likeminded Christians in spreading the gospel around the world. Baptists are a God-honoring Christian people, for whom the Bible is the authority for our faith and behavior, who hold to every believer being a "priest" of God and therefore each believer having direct access to, and relationship with, God through Jesus Christ who is our LORD. Christ is the head of our church.
As Baptists we choose to cooperate together with other Baptist churches to help those who do not know Jesus come to know Him, while our church remains autonomous from other churches in our governance.
Our statement of mission, Knowing Christ, Growing in Christ, and Showing Christ, is more than just a catchy phrase. We hope that it gives you insight into just who we are.
Christ reached out to people of all ages and backgrounds, and we at Gate City Baptist Church desire to do the same. No matter what your stage of life or ethnicity, you will find among us assistance in coming to know Christ, getting to know Christ better, growing in your relationship with God, and opportunities to serve God and others. We have groups available through which every person can study the Scriptures, develop friendships, and bless others through numerous service opportunities.
We invite you to be a part of the blessings of God in the life of our church. Small groups meet each Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. Then we worship our Lord and learn practical truth from the Bible each Sunday morning at 10:45 a.m. There is a Bible Study and prayer time each Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m.
Attire at all services is casual.
